Stay in the Moment

When it comes to playing the perfect round of golf, there are several factors that determine the quality of your performance. Sure, physical conditioning, a healthy diet and disciplined mechanics are integral contributors to getting the most out of your golf game, but don’t underestimate the importance of maintaining your focus for the game. Whether you’re a lifetime enthusiast or a beginner picking up a set of clubs for the first time, proper focus is an aspect of your game that can be applied to your golf fitness workouts as well as your time on the golf course.

As a trainer to the pros and a golf fitness guru, John Ondrush has helped out golfers of varying levels of play to work on their focus in order to tighten up their game and lower their scores. Ondrush insists that the concerns affecting a golfer are universal, and that they don’t pertain to beginners and amateurs only: “Too many golfers think about their score or the next challenge ahead on the golf course, and their focus is taken away from playing the present shot or hole.” The key to success in golf is to maintain a sharp focus on what’s happening around and in front of you at that very moment. A game of golf can often change with a gust of wind, so it’s important to keep your wits about you and to stay focused on the moment at hand instead of planning ahead.

"FIT for Golf has made golf fitness fast and simple. Finally, there is a training aid that focuses on all 3 physical components of the golf swing: Strength, Flexibility & Balance. I recommend it to all my students to eliminate physical restrictions that prevent them from achieving proper positions in their golf swing. It's also been a tremendous help in my own game. As of lately, I use the Training Ball in the morning as a warm-up tool before I even make a single swing in order to loosen up my joints and warm up my muscles. That way I can start my round ready to play."
