FIT for Golf is proud to announce that Thomas Kearney has joined out Players Staff. Thomas is a great young player who has proven himself throughout his collegiate golf career and beyond on the Nationwide Tour. Despite being just 26 years old, Thomas played his first PGA Tour event earlier this month and showed he can hang in there with the “big boys” at the Valero Texas Open. We look forward to watching him continue to grow and wish him all the best as his career reaches new heights.

Learn more about Thomas on his official site: TKearneyGolf.com

Also, check Thomas as he plugs away on the practice tee… not bad.

As an up & coming professional golfer, Thomas truly understand the value of golf fitness and how it can help improve his game. He has made it clear that golf fitness is a priority for him as he continually hones his skills, yearning to get to the next level. That attitude has made our new relationship that much more meaning as he represents everything FIT for Golf stands for as a brand and organization. Welcome, Thomas!

With the New Year upon us, we all have our resolutions set and are trying to do everything in our power to make good on them this year. This author has one thing on the brain and one thing only: PLAY BETTER GOLF! With that in mind, I have been searching far and wide for the right game plan to make it happen; part of which includes making some special efforts to develop my strength and flexibility. Typically, I get about 3 weeks into the year and, without fail, abandon the fitness portion of my routine in order to focus strictly on playing and practicing but this year will be different. 2010 is a year for new beginnings… it’s a new decade which calls for a new strategy.

As of Saturday, January 1st, it all began. My routine starts at home with some simple ideas. First, I start with my FIT for Golf Training Ball. The medicine ball routine is the best way to get warmed up. In the same routine, all the important “golf muscles” are engaged while enabling me to stretch. It’s like doing double duty. Given the low impact it’s an ideal way to get started. Add in some cardio: time on the bike, elliptical or some running and that’s it… that’s my daily routine. This year I figured, “just make it simple, that way I can maintain it.” As the year progresses, I may try to squeeze in some yoga or pilates on a semi-daily basis but for now I’m working with the tools I already have available. It’s a simple recipe for success and the beauty is: ANYONE can do it.

FIT for Golf is proud to announce a new member to our Players Staff, Keegan Bradley. Keegan is a talented young up and comer with a recent victory on NGA Hooters Tour at the Texas Honing Open. Keegan turned pro in 2008 after an impressive collegiate career as Captain of the St. John’s University Golf Team, where he earned numerous honors throughout his playing tenure. More recently, he has been battling it out on the Nationwide Tour and NGA Hooters Tour trying to earn a spot on the PGA Tour. In fact, just a few weeks ago he came one step closer to that goal by finishing 1st (by 8 strokes!) at the first stage of The PGA Tour Qualifying School. Everyone at FIT for Golf wishes him the best of luck as prepares for next stage on November 18.

As a member of the FIT for Golf Players Staff, Keegan has been using the FIT for Golf Training ball since its prototyping stages. He has made it clear that as a player striving to get to that next level, it is essential to develop every aspect of his golf fitness routine in order to perform to that higher standard. Employing devices such as the FIT for Golf Training Ball has become a fundamental part of his pre-round warm up and an essential component of each practice session as he prepares to take the PGA Tour by storm.

“When I used the FIT for Golf Training Ball in the Nationwide Tour event, I finished first place in driving stats” says Bradley, “I’d say it was a direct result of using the ball.” On how using the ball felt, Bradley reaffirmed the health and performance benefits of the product: “Every golfer needs to stretch out before you play because one wrong swing and you can really hurt yourself. The FIT for Golf Training Ball loosens you up, enabling you make better golf swings and hit the ball further.”

Whether he’s packing up for the next tour stop or stepping out into the Orlando sunshine to practice, Keegan Bradley’s using the FIT for Golf Training Ball because it’s proven its worth with the pros, and he’s thinking ahead for the sake of his athletic longevity. “It’s a tool for the future of golf. Golf is becoming more and more fitness conscious and any sort of golf training aid you can use to improve your flexibility and strength, it’ll drastically help you play better golf.”
